About

A community programme run from a small centre in Makerere–Kivulu, Kampala.

A church on the edge of a slum.

Impact Fund is a community ministry of Kampala Central Seventh-day Adventist Church, on Gadaffi Road in Makerere. Right next to the church is Kivulu — a densely populated low-income neighbourhood where most families live below the poverty line, and where the church has worked for years.

The programme started with a few church members noticing how many of the children who turned up at the gate were hungry, out of school, or both. We began with a Sabbath meal. Today it's grown into five connected programmes — feeding, schooling, the children's chapel, health camps, and a mothers' workshop — but it still runs from the church compound, with church volunteers, on a small budget.

How we work

Local-led

Run by people from Kivulu, with parents and local leaders as partners.

Practical

We focus on what families actually need: meals, school fees, basic health, and skills training.

Accountable

Donations are processed through GoFundMe and tracked back to specific programmes.
